Fundamentals of Oscilloscopes Slide 4

When looking at oscilloscopes there are two types of bandwidth. There is the analog bandwidth, which is essentially the bandwidth of the amplifier on the front end. Typical instruments have a classification of 100 MHz, 500 MHz, 1 GHz and so on. There is another item called digital bandwidth, which is dependent on the sample rate and therefore is also dependent on the acquisition memory size which can affect the sampling rate.
