The ARM7 core and its memory interface, accessing 32kB of FLASH and 4kB of SRAM, are optimized to reduce power consumption which is why the CPU speed is limited to a maximum of 10.24Mhz. Additionally, this is the first ARM7 based part to provide a VIC (vectored interrupt controller) which allows interrupt nesting and prioritization to 16 levels. In contrast, ADI’s standard ARM7 parts only allow 2-levels of interrupt nesting.
