All devices in the ADuC702x family feature an ARM7TDMI core. The “T” in TDMI stands for Thumb (16-bit) instruction set support which allows for increased code density when the power of the full 32-bit instruction set is not required. The “D” indicates the Debug features are integrated on-chip while the “M” stands for Multiply and Multiply-accumulate operations which take less cycles then on the standard ARM7 core. Finally, the “I” represents In-circuit emulation hardware built-in.
