The first precision analog microcontroller parts released by ADI used an 8052 processor. The first part produced in 1998 was the ADuC812 which integrated an 8052 core with a 12-bit ADC, two 12-bit DACs (digital-to-analog converters) and FLASH memory. Other parts followed using this same standard 8052 core, expanding the FLASH memory available and also offering different ADC options with some parts having 24-bit sigma-delta ADCs such as the ADuC834.
