The second set of 20-pin options (R8C/28,29 and 32x) is shown here. At the peripheral-level, the devices are fully compatible, which is again one of the greatest strengths of the R8C family. However, looking closer at the specifications, there are some key differences between the 2x and 3x series. Examples of this include the addition of a DTC (Data Transfer Controller), extra I²C, and a larger RAM-to-ROM ratio in the 32x.
