The R8C MCU line-up consists of multiple series. For general purpose and application specific requirements, the R8C offers the 1x, 2x, and 3x series. Each series offers different levels of integration and performance. The map on the right hand side shows that these devices cover a very wide range of flash memory sizes and pin counts. For those applications requiring a built-in LCD controller, designers can take advantage of the R8C/Lx series. The initial line-up in the R8C/Lx consists of high-end products having from 48KB to 128KB of Flash memory in packages as large as 100-pin. With these four series, the R8C family offers over 1000 unique part numbers, all having a compatible CPU and peripheral set.
