Another family of devices that ST has based on the STW81101 is RF down converters. As can be seen on the block diagram on this slide, the STW8210xB is based on our STW81101 series of synthesizers. It also has an integrated down mixer, IF amplifier, and other features. STW8210xB is a single-chip alternative to the discreet, bulky mixer, PLL, VCO solution. With this device ST integrates a high linearity, passive down mixer, and an IF amplifier. It is based on an integer-N PLL with the two wideband VCOs, which are used as the fundamental block for the STW8110x family of synthesizers. This is a device family with four devices in the family, aimed primarily at supporting the various cellular bands, GSM, CDMA, LTE, even WIMAX. All of these bands are covered with this device. It is a highly-integrated device, available in a 7X7 , 44-pin, quad flat pack package. There certainly can be interest from applications in the cellular infrastructure market, or applications requiring more integration.
