Some typical applications for the STW81200 are shown on this slide. Wireless infrastructure and base stations have been discussed, others include macro base stations, micro base stations, Pico base stations, as well as remote radio heads or active antenna arrays for the wireless infrastructure market. However, other areas of interest are microwave backhaul, and applications that are not quite as obvious include satellite and cable TV set-top boxes and other systems in which frequency synthesizers are required. Another area showing some interest is in communications equipment such as public safety and military radios. The STW81200 is interesting to them because they need high performance, with good integration and low power, which is really key in portable and mobile units. Instrumentation, test equipment, and microwave and millimeter wave test equipment, certainly could make use of this device. Another area where there is some interest is in radar array applications for military and airline traffic applications. Lastly, clock generators could certainly make use of such a wide range, wideband device.
