This application circuit shows the LT3756-2 driving eighteen 370mA LEDs in a boost configuration with inputs as high as 60V (100V transients). In total, this circuit can deliver over 30W of LED power and offers dimming ratios of up to 3,000:1. In general, this is sufficient for an automotive headlight application or a high power spotlight. High current LEDs are connected in series to insure that each LED gets the same current, thereby offering uniform brightness. Note the simplicity of the design circuit, where very few externals are required. This solution provides a very simple and compact layout.
