Bluetooth Modules and Turnkey Solutions Slide 3

Shown on this slide is a short summary of the ST Blue modules’ value proposition, highlighting the key factors differentiating ST Blue modules and the related benefits. The integration of the most updated chipset coming from ST and ST-Ericsson offers an innovative solution compliant with Bluetooth version 2.1 and the latest 3.0. ST modules are ready to support communication with Apple iOS Bluetooth enabled devices. All ST modules are BQB certified and listed on SIG website according to EPL procedure, therefore the customer can easily apply for their own EPL free of charge and use the Bluetooth logo and all of the Bluetooth marketing tools available to support their product. The Blue modules are fully integrated, tested, qualified, and RF certified, offering a complete Bluetooth modem function in a very compact size. This ensures easy integration, highly reliable design with zero RF design issues, and Bluetooth implementation; it is a plug and play solution. In addition, the modules support low power mode. Class 1 devices implement an onboard low power oscillator (LPO) that is not embedded on the Class 2 because of the tiny PCB dimension, although the LPO can be integrated to the Class 2 module through a dedicated pin. Use of low power mode and lower power supply voltage as supported by the new SPBT2632 series ensures longer battery life. Finally, there are a couple of functions that make module use easy and effective. The “smartcable” which is a single command that launches the complete connection/paring subroutine to realize the automatic connection between two predefined devices. The second is the “remote mode control” that enables GPIO and UART settings via Bluetooth link from a remote device. All of this is included, without the need of an external driver in a small package; easy to handle, great to integrate.
