Here, the DC/DC converters power range spans 5W to 40W. For most of the products in this table and those to follow, the input voltage range nomenclature begins with a letter “D” or “Q” to denote 2:1 (Duo) or 4:1 (Quad) range and the output voltages are typical analog voltages of 5V, 12V, and 15V in various single, bipolar, and triple output configurations. The UWR 7-15W product is the exception here, providing very low voltages below 5V to 1.2V. Under the “DC Isolation” column, the voltages are generally those accepted by the various industries in which they are used. The packages and pin assignments for these products are all industry-standard. In the “Features” column, note that almost all of these products operate over the range of -40°C to 100°C. Usually, the output power starts to de-rate somewhere between 60°C and 85°C, depending not only upon the series but even the specific models within a series. The converters shown here feature input under-voltage lock-out (UVLO), output voltage trimming, and remote on/off control. Devices listed with “A-Series” in the “Other Features” column denotes that these products are second-generation versions of the product, upgraded from the first-generation using a more stringent qualification process that included HALT (highly accelerated life testing) testing, more severe shock and vibration, thermal shock, and comprehensive EMI characterization. The A-Series products continue to be embraced by users that want the added assurance of a more robust product in their applications. This is especially true in applications expected to be subjected to more severe environmental extremes.
