This page shows the ULP memory map again. In the static mode example, there was only one common and therefore only bit positions 0 and 4 were used. With multiplexing, and in particular the 4 mux mode as shown, all memory locations are use as each bit position is associated with one of the 4 commons. Bit position 0 is associated with COM0, bit position 1 is associated with COM1 and so on. Take a look at segment 8B in the display mapping in the figure on the right for example. This segment is referenced to COM2 and pin 21. Since the LCD controller pin numbers have been set to be the same as the display pin numbers for this example, segment 8B is mapped to bit position 6 at address ULPMEM10. Other multiplexing modes are available such as 3 mux. In this case COM3 bit positions would not be used.
