The Si5338 has an independent MultiSynth fractional divider in each output clock path, making it possible for a single Si5338 to replace multiple standalone crystal oscillators and clock generators. This provides customers with a significant power savings of 50% or more, in addition to reducing design complexity and BOM costs. Since this device has excellent jitter performance, a single clock generator IC can be used to provide critical timing for both the datapath and the control plane, providing significant BOM consolidation.
