MAX11300 Programmable Mixed Signal IO Pt 2 Slide 9
Shown here is a simplified block diagram for a new Reference Design called MAXREFDES39 which is for Power Amplifier (PA) bias control. MAX44285 Current Sense Amplifier (CSA) is used to measure the current flowing through the low value sense resistor (Rs), and the amplified output is digitized using an ADC within PIXI. A DAC in PIXI is used to drive the Power Transistor. The actual design uses a two-stage amplifier using the Infineon PTMA210152 transistor. The flexibility and integration of PIXI is demonstrated by combing multiple function including two ADCs for measuring current, two DACs for driving transistors, temperature sensing, and two DACs used for controlling on-board DC-DC converters which generate the higher voltages for the power transistors.
