Based on PFC output power and secondary repetitive peak current value, designers can select the best SiC Schottky diode rating. The rule of thumb is 1A per 100–150W of PFC circuit output power. For example: a 500W output PFC boost convert with a repetitive peak current value of 16A, would require the CSD04060 (4A, 600V) SiC Schottky diode. Note that this rating will be significantly lower than the associated silicon device. Cost/performance comparisons to silicon devices will never be one-to-one on amperage rating.
