As previously mentioned, Solaris is made from the same basic materials as used in the M81714, PEGASUS and LUMINUS products. The use of ULTEM in the housing and insert components provides a wide operating range and high shock and impact survivability. The Silicone rubber is flexible but tough, allowing contact insertion and removal without tearing, while still providing the sealing necessary for the IP67 performance level. Stainless steel contact retainers provide high pull strength and will not snap or break during insertion or removal. The PA6/6 Nylon provides the flexibility needed to smoothly latch and has a great resistance to most chemicals found in the MIL-Aerospace environment.
