A wide range of CTs are available in a compact format. The ASM is the lowest cost device for use as a basic current indicator and is suitable for load drop, shutdown, and fault indication applications. The widely used AC series provides a bit higher output than the ASM series, in a very economical configuration. The AX types excel in general current monitoring and measurement applications, notably with a very high output voltage of typically 1 V, obviating the need for an op amp circuit to boost the output level. The AP series of precision CTs are capable of very high accuracy current measurement, typically 0.2%.
