The Si533x/5x any-rate, any-output quad clock generators are capable of synthesizing any frequency on each of the device’s four differential outputs. These devices are available in three speed grades: 0.16 to 700 MHz, 0.16 to 350 MHz, and 0.16 to 200 MHz. To provide additional design flexibility, each output clock is independently user-programmable to support any signal format and reference voltage. This dramatically simplifies timing architectures by replacing fixed frequency clock generators, discrete level translators, and crystal oscillators (XOs) with a single device while minimizing cost, real estate, and power. Skyworks Solutions Si5334/Si5338 clock generators have jitter performance of 1 ps rms typical, making the devices an ideal fit for clocking jitter-sensitive applications like Gigabit Ethernet and PCI Express 2.1/3.0. Given their frequency flexibility, the same device can be used to provide clocking for less jitter-sensitive devices like FPGAs, ASICs, memory, and processors. To further simplify timing architectures, Skyworks Solutions is introducing the Si5330 low jitter, low skew clock buffer. The Si5330 targets clock distribution applications and supports a broad range of clock format options, including CMOS, LVDS, LVPECL, HCSL, SSTL and HSTL. The Si5330 has an additive jitter performance of 0.150 ps rms typical.
