The P2020 is the dual core version of this processor family. Each core runs at up to 1.2GHz and shares a frontside L2 cache of 512KB for more efficient memory access. The processor supports DDR3 running at up to 667MHz. DDR3 helps to reduce power and provides 30% better throughput than prior DDR memory configurations. Many of NXP’s competitors do not currently support DDR3. The processor has support for several low level serial interfaces like DUART, I²C and support for low cost boot options like boot from NAND and SD/MMC. The high speed interfaces like Gigabit Ethernet, PCI Express, USB and Serial Rapid IO round out this highly integrated processor and 5W typical power envelope enables the design of various applications.
