The first product that will be reviewed is the SSRA series. This single in-line package device is the smallest solid state relay that Tyco Electronics offers. With 4 pins, the SSRA is only about 24mm long by 13mm tall and only 5mm thick. Clearly, this allows high package densities on a PC board. The SSRA and the other new PC board SSRs are efficient, typically requiring only 15mA of input current at 5 volts DC. The 2 amp rated SSRA models are designed for switching highly inductive, low current loads such as solenoids and relay or contactor coils. This product is UL recognized for the U.S. and Canada. The SSRA, and all of the other new SSRs that are being introduced in this presentation, are only available in a 1 form A switching arrangement.
