After setting up the software on the PC Settings tab the user should select the Configure Tab to read and make changes. In addition, the Configure Tab has an Info Center which details the aspects of various parameters and offers the ability to save the configuration in a text file. With the port status still “Open” select the Read Radio button to query the radio and populate the Configure Tab with content. Note, that the radio must always be read before any changes can be made. If the software was unable to successfully communicate with the radio, an error stating “Failed to Enter Command Mode” will appear. If this happens, verify the baud rate settings on the PC Settings tab and verify the port status in the status bar. The user can also select for the software to use Auto Baud (if the option is selected on the PC Settings tab) to attempt to read the radio if a read radio is unsuccessful. Once the radio has been read, the user can make any relevant changes on the GUI page and then select the Write Radio button to write those changes to the radio. Changes will not take affect until the radio is written.
