The ITT Universal Contacts are made of Beryllium Copper, BeCu, or Titanium Copper, TiCu, material. The Titanium Copper is used when customers prefer to move away from beryllium which when ground produces dust particles which have been deemed as hazardous. Because the Universal Contacts are stamped and formed no dust is produced; 95% of ITT’s customers use the BeCu parts. The free height range from 1.3 mm to 4.6 mm, and the formed “side wings” create a box protecting the beam from being overstressed.
