BLE, or Bluetooth smart, is becoming the choice for short range, low power wireless connectivity. Customers expect a standard based technology that is secure and enables interoperability. BLE is optimized for power, and can be used in a wide range of applications, ranging from ones that transmit just a few bytes of state, or control data, or need higher throughput up to 800 Kbps. Adoption of Bluetooth Smart ready devices that is phones, tablets, and PCs, is enabling BLE to expand into new market segments and varied applications. Pictured here are a few examples of real world applications where BLE market share is increasing rapidly. Bottom line is that BLE is becoming the default Bluetooth standard due to an evolving standard that is accepting new features, a strong ecosystem adoption in the smart ready devices, and low power capabilities.
