Grace Software Graphical User Interface Slide 3

Grace™ allows users to abstract from the bits and bytes of low-level register settings for the various peripherals. It is able to simplify development by providing an intuitive and easy to navigate Graphical User Interface. Shown on this slide is the Grace welcome screen, or home screen, which shows developers all of the various peripherals that are available within the MSP430 device. A unique feature of this page is that Grace will modify and customize this interactive block diagram automatically, based on the exact MSP430 device being applied. This way, developers understand what peripherals are available and at their disposal. The blue blocks indicate that a particular block can be interacted with. In the screenshot shown on this slide, an MSP430F2274 device is shown, which is the device that’s integrated in the eZ430-RF2500 kit, one of TI’s easy-to-use microcontroller kits with RF capability. Grace automatically knows that this device includes a 10-bit ADC, opamp, GPIO ports, WDT, 16-bit timers, and serial communication interface; and has highlighted those blocks in blue. The user can then simply click on the blocks and enable that particular peripheral with a single click. With this simple GUI, Grace allows developers to enable and configure their peripherals in just a few minutes, rather than spend hours developing the same thing. Normally what would have taken minutes, now takes seconds, providing the ability to significantly reduce configuration time.
