The NIS3071 does not only exhibit fast response time to short events, but great robustness. As shown here, the NIS3071 eFuse is capable of handling short to ground events with up to 5µH on both the input and output, without the need for external solutions due to its robust design. This is ideal for applications such as a vehicle's wire harness. The test conditions in this case were all 4 channels of the NIS3071 paralleled with an input voltage at the maximum of 60V. The current limiting resistor value was 10kΩ, and no Schottky was connected to the output.
