The IKVP80ES is an external SSD that goes from 480 GB to 1,920 GB (or nearly 2 TB). It is FIPS 197 certified, meaning it was tested by a certification lab to ensure that its XTS-AES-256-bit encryption is properly implemented. Any drive without this certification or the higher FIPS 140-3 Level 3 certification will not guarantee that implementors of the drive correctly applied AES-256-bit encryption in XTS mode. Note that FIPS 197 certification is through NIST, a U.S. government agency that is tasked with encryption security. It has brute-force attack protection, BadUSB protection through digitally-signed firmware, and a touch screen interface that makes usage intuitive and easy. It has a menu-based interface that allows for the setup of many options and also features multi-PIN options either through a PIN or passphrase that can be keyed in using the built-in alphabet and numeric keyboards. This drive is designed to be easy-to-use with powerful options. The touch screen allows a user to see what password was entered through the eye symbol which lets the customer see what is typed in and reduces errors due to typos (typical keyboards with mechanical keys rely on a user manual or code book to make changes). The menu interface is intuitive to select and set various options. If the customer has watched “Mission Impossible” where an attacker can analyze the skin oils on a touchscreen to reveal what keys were pressed or visually observe the pattern of keypresses for a password, the IKVP80ES will confound attackers. By default, the drive is set to randomize digits or rows of alpha keys. That means that on every log in, the entry keys will be scrambled so that the two attack methods will not work. This is a unique security feature among keyboard drives and can be turned off by Admin if desired.
