As seen in the previous slide, using the Flex Suppressor® will minimize the shift of the resonance point. It suppresses the influence of the metal object, but there is still a certain minimal shift that occurs. There are two options that can be used to tweak this further and reduce the resonance point shifting even more. If the tag’s capacitance is adjustable, the resonance point can be calibrated back to the center of the operating frequency by changing the capacitance of the tag by the amount of the inductance fluctuation created by the Flex Suppressor. If the tag’s capacitance cannot be adjusted, changing the thickness of the Flex Suppressor will allow the user to fine-tune the shift of the resonance frequency and bring it back as close as possible to the desired operating frequency range.
