The Flex Suppressor® is a polymer base, blended with micron-sized magnetic powders dispersed throughout the material. This technology was invented by KEMET in 1995 to offer a solution that could surpass the limitations of brittle ferrite materials. One of the most important features of the Flex Suppressor is that it is flexible and thin, allowing to use such solutions in virtually any place, beyond the space limitations due to ongoing miniaturization of the devices that a more conventional EMC product would face. The conventional field of application of the Flex Suppressor is to provide noise countermeasure through electromagnetic wave suppression or resonance suppression. Now, through the rise of NFC and RFID applications, a new way to use the Flex Suppressor is getting more and more popular.
