Texas Instruments' TMP1826/7 is a high-accuracy, 1-Wire® compatible digital output temperature sensor with integrated 2 kbit EEPROM and a wide operating temperature range of -55°C to +150°C. The sensor provides a high accuracy of ±0.1°C (typical) and ±0.3°C (maximum) across the temperature range of -20°C to +85°C. The device comes with a factory-programmed 64-bit unique identification number for addressing and NIST traceability. The TMP1826/7 supports standard speed for legacy applications and overdrive mode with a 90 kbps data rate for low-latency communication across a wide voltage range of 1.7 V to 5.5 V. In the simplest mode of operation and with integrated 8 kV IEC-61000-4-2 ESD protection on the data pin, the TMP1826 1-Wire interface requires a single connection and a ground return in bus-powered mode, which simplifies and reduces cost by decreasing the number of wires and external protection components.
The VDD power pin is available for applications that prefer to have a dedicated power supply. The 2 kbit EEPROM allows the host to store application data in 64-bit increments. With user-programmable 256-bit page-size write protection to avoid accidental overwrites, the EEPROM can be used as non-volatile, read-only memory. The four digital I/O pins are configurable for general-purpose functions, temperature alerts, or provide a host to identify the position of the device on a shared bus.
The TMP1827 version add a SHA-256-HMAC authentication scheme not included in the TMP1826 version.
