SparkFun's Onion OMEGA2+ IoT Computer | DigiKey Daily
Onion offers their IoT computer, the Omega2+. This top-end, Linux-based, and WiFi-enabled development board is designed to help makers build connected hardware applications. Because it boots its own operating system at power up, users are permitted to use their favorite programming language. At the core is the MT7688 SoC, which features a 580 megahertz CPU, supports both WiFi and wired Ethernet, and operates from 3.3 volts. While it comes with 128 megabytes of DDR2 DRAM memory and 32 megabytes of onboard flash storage, the storage space is expandable using the microSD card slot. Built to interact with other hardware, it has dedicated pins for USB 2.0, as well as 12 GPIO pins that support I2C, UART and SPI serial communication protocols.
