In some cases, antennas may not perform as intended and exhibit undesirable characteristics, such as low gain or poor return loss.  This is mainly due to the mismatch of the antenna system to the 50 ohm impedance feed line into the antenna or the enclosure over the antenna.  Therefore, the antenna requires a fine-tuning process to optimize the antenna performance.
