All the Internet of Things: Episode One Recap

Have you had a chance to watch the first episode of Adafruit and DigiKey’s “All the Internet of Things”? Presented by Lady Ada herself, the series “All the Internet of Things” is covering everything you need to know about the IoT. The second episode is scheduled to release shortly, and, with that, a quick review of the first episode will prepare you for the next release.

Episode one is devoted to Transports (the different standards and associated protocols) that enable the IoT. In this episode she discusses the pros and cons of Ethernet, WiFi, Bluetooth and BTLE, Cellular and Satellite, Zigbee and Z-Wave, as well as LoRa and SigFox. The full video is almost 40 minutes, but conveniently, Adafruit has also broken down the video into a step-by-step walk though for each topic.

If you are looking for information on only one topic or simply don’t have the time to watch the whole video at one time, these smaller segments may be just what you’re looking for so you can on what you are most interested in:

Ethernet (about 4 minutes)

WiFi (about 7 minutes)

Bluetooth & BTLE (about 7 minutes)

Cellular & Satellite (about 6 minutes)

Zigbee & Z-Wave (about 4 minutes)

LoRa & SigFox (about 2 minutes)

The full length video is available on maker.io, as well.
