One of the main drivers for the adoption of this technology is the increasing price of fuel. Initially electric vehicles had many designed failures, both real and perceived, but the industry is working hard to address these. Significant improvements in travel range, speed, recharging time and cost have recently been made and this is making the technology look more attractive to the average consumer. Of these technologies, Lithium-ion battery technology has recently become one of the most dominant and pertinent technologies for electric vehicles and optimizing this will be critical for large scale electric vehicle adoption.
