PCM-99 in Automotive Battery Applications Slide 16

The key design guide lines, for PCM materials, mean that for optimum performance the pads must be exposed to a burn in temperature in excess of 51ºC. Upon this temperature the material will flow and form an intimate thermal joint and achieve maximum surface wetting. In order for this to be fully achieved it is also essential that pressure is applied to the PCM and this is normally achieved using either screws or clips.
