GreenChip SR ICs
Modern efficient power supplies are switched mode power supplies rather than a simple linear supply. An often-used topology for building the power supply is the flyback converter. The GreenChip SR is a control circuit which operates at the secondary side of a flyback converter. Depending on the type, it can manage several tasks like driving a synchronous rectification switch, measuring the output voltage and protection against too high output currents. There is a clear trend in the market for higher efficiency year-on-year, enabling power supplies to become smaller and smaller. NXP’s GreenChip SR controllers are a way to increase the efficiency of a discontinuous conduction mode flyback power supply. NXP offers a wide range of controllers, from low-side controllers with integrated feedback control to SR controllers that can also be used high-side. The TEA1791A and TEA1795 are also suitable for resonant power supply topologies.
