To be able to use a cellular modem on a network users need to go through a few simple steps. First, users will need an active data plan. These can be set up with a provider of choice, based on the technology used in the Skywire chosen. If CDMA is chosen, Airgain can provide Verizon data plans. To activate a data plan with Airgain, send an email to [email protected] with contact information and the MEID number from the label on the Skywire modem. Someone from Airgain will call the user back to activate the data plan on the modem in real time. Now that there is an active data plan in place, users will need to provision the modem. Some Airgain development kits have automated the provisioning process. Please refer to the development kit documentation for instructions. Provisioning can also be accomplished by sending the provisioning command to the modem over the UART. This provisioning process can take a few minutes to complete. Once provisioning is complete, the modem can be used on the network.
