ethernet
Airgain’s Ethernet to Cellular (E2C) device came from discussions with the Verizon team about the need for a simple ethernet to cellular device. Many manufacturers built their products with the idea that they would use the local WiFi or Ethernet network for their data pipe. Unfortunately, many times those networks are not made available to the products and they are stuck without a good data solution. Enter the E2C Link. A simple Ethernet connection means a user’s data is sent to the cloud through the cellular network, just like it would have if it had been plugged into a local internet connected network. Airgain builds the E2C Link with a 400 MHz processor running open source Linux and Open WRT. This provides users with a management console and many of the features that users can utilize with a home Wifi router. This console supports Nat translation, port forwarding, firewalls, etc. Power can be provided by a wall supply or with a POE splitter. The E2C Link provides SMA connectors for local or remote antenna connections. Customers can purchase the retail package for evaluation. This package includes a power supply, antenna, and mounting strap. For volume orders, Airgain offers an E2C Link Only package that allows the customer to purchase the power supply and antenna of their choice separately.
