The tunable loop is a feature that allows the user to add small external components (a resistor and capacitor) to the existing pins of a module in order to adjust the compensation characteristic of the module. This means that the same module can be used in applications with high transient requirements as well as other more benign conditions. This also allows the user to optimize using the lowest number of external capacitors, a feature that allows for cost and space reductions while enhancing reliability.
