Most devices in the ZXCT series have a maximum operating voltage of 20V.  Sometimes it may be required to extend this range in order to cope with higher working voltages. Application note AN39 has a number of suggestions on how this could be done for all Current Output Current Monitors (COCM’s) including the ZXCT1050.  However, this device particularly lends itself to another method that has two distinct advantages: it extends the CM range without compromising the low end of the range which includes ground, and it is implemented using only three additional resistors.
