While this example illustrates the simplicity of using the ZXCT1009 and 1008, it is worth highlighting two points. First, best accuracy is obtained with the lowest quiescent current IQ possible since it shares its outlet with the output. Second, for a level of current to be monitored at a required output voltage, there is very little freedom for modifying RS (for optimizing accuracy and power dissipation) and RG (for optimizing output resistance). This is a simple, easy and economical solution for many applications.
