Three development kits are available for customer evaluation of the HX3. The CY4609 is a low BOM 4-port hub design using the 68-pin CYUSB3304 that supports USB charging and ganged control for downstream port power. Ganged control means all four downstream ports are turned on/off at the same time. This allows for use of a single FET to control power to all four ports. The CY4603 is a kit for the CYUSB3314, the 88-pin version of the HX3 that supports all 3340 features along with individual port power control. With individual control, using dedicated power control output and over-current detection input for every downstream port, each port of the HX3 can operate independently, providing a more robust design and a better user experience. The CY4613 is the kit for the CYUSB3328, the full featured HX3 that supports shared link and ACA dock. CY4613 is designed to support six USB ports, with two of the four HX3 downstream ports configured for shared link. Of these six downstream ports on the CY4613, two are standard USB 3.0 ports, two are standard USB 2.0 ports, and two are Super-Speed only internal ports.
