MSP430FR5969 LaunchPad Low Power FRAM MCU Part 3 Slide 3

Shown here are the features of the experimenter board. The top one-third of the FR59 LaunchPad contains the eZFET emulation portion. The eZFET provides the ability to download and debug code via any standard IDE such as CCS or IAR. Jumpers are provided to connect the eZFET emulator to the target FR5969 device. Alternatively the FR5969 can also be programmed using a standard TI USB FET by populating the 14-pin JTAG header. The FR5969 device with 64 kB of embedded FRAM is in the center of the board. The board also comes pre-populated with two ten-pin headers in the standard LaunchPad format allowing this board to be compatible with any BoosterPack such as the SHARP96 LCD. The board also provides the option to mount a 32,768 Hz crystal for RTC as well as switches and LEDs for user interaction. A unique feature of this board is the 0.1 F super cap. This capacitor can be charged by plugging in the board via USB and ensuring the jumper next to the supercap is set to the charge option. Removing the “current” jumper allows the user to place a multi-meter in series to measure board power.
