LPC29xx Microcontrollers Slide 49
As mentioned in the previous slide, LIN features a single master and multiple slaves. The typical LIN master node contains the master task and a slave task. All other nodes (slaves) contain only a slave task. The master task is responsible for deciding which frame shall be transferred and when, while slave tasks provide the data to be transferred on the LIN bus. This data unit is called a frame and consists of a header provided by the master task, and a response provided by the slave task. The communication in an active LIN cluster is always initiated by the master task.
