Non-Magnetic MLCCs Slide 6

The magnetic field generated by an MRI will attract ferromagnetic objects with considerable force. This attraction is usually referred to as the "missile effect" and poses a significant risk to anyone in or near the unit. Serious injuries can be caused to patients when a ferromagnetic object is pulled into the MRI magnet core. These objects include oxygen bottles, chairs, ladders, carts, pens, and scissors.
