MRI is an abbreviation for Magnetic Resonance Imaging. MRI is a non-invasive electronic system producing images of a specific body part by using magnetic and RF fields. It is widely used as a diagnostic tool by physicians and hospitals. The MRI uses powerful magnets to create a magnetic field which in turn forces the hydrogen atoms in the body into alignment. A powerful radio transmitter is used to produced a oscillating magnetic field. This RF signal is disrupted by body tissues under evaluation by the MRI. These disruptions create return signal losses which are processed by the MRI to create an image.
