The primary benefit of an LT4320 based ideal diode bridge is its ability to reduce the heat dissipated, thereby limiting the ambient temperature rise especially in confined, airflow-restricted systems such as 24VAC-powered security cameras. The thermographs compare a diode bridge to an LT4320 bridge for the same board area, input and load current conditions. The diodes are above 80°C while the LT4320 bridge is at a cool 35°C.
