The LTC2636 family of DACs offers several improvements over the existing LTC2620 family. The LTC2636 octal DAC includes an internal reference and offers better INL, lower glitch impulse, and faster settling. Maximum INL of ±2.5LSB is achieved on the quad and octal versions, while the single and dual channel DACs offer ±1LSB max INL on their A-grade versions. The LTC2636-12 DAC can also be compared to Analog Devices' LTC2656-12 precision DAC family. The LTC2656-12 is based on a 16-bit architecture and offers slightly better DC specifications, a better internal reference, and lower noise, at the cost of higher power and a larger package. Overall, of the DAC families highlighted on this page, the LTC263x DAC family, offers the smallest package size, best glitch impulse, and lowest power. It is also available in a wider -40ºC to 125ºC temperature range for automotive applications.
