An important comparison feature is how well does the part perform at temperature? This is critical to the discussion of “real” current density since other solutions purport to offer comparable current carrying capability, but de-rate their currents (i.e. provide less and less current) so heavily at higher temperatures so as to render their “real” density significantly inferior to a robust Lineage POL solution. These products usually derate heavily due to the use of lesser quality and lower performance components. At higher temperatures this product provides the full rated output current. This is not the case with most commodity products and this is almost never the case with most discrete solutions. The ruggedized version allows full load operation up to 105 degrees without current derating. The ruggedized version (SRDZ) also meets the MIL STD 810F extended shock & vibration 50G and provides low ripple/noise operation.
