Launched in 2006, the i.MX31 continues to be one of NXP’s most popular devices for new designs. The i.MX31 provides customers with a Smart Speed implementation of the ARM11 core which features up to 532MHz CPU speeds with a 6x5 crossbar switch and the ability for up to 5 simultaneous transactions on the 133MHz system bus. Additionally, this device supports a number of lower power modes, as well as active well-bias and power gating. The LCD controller supports up to SVGA displays resolutions and the MPEG4 encoder with support for up to 30 fps are just some of the reasons why this device has been so prominent in multimedia applications.
