Isolated DC-DC Converter Design Considerations Slide 5

There are three different ways to handle input overvoltage. The first is to shut down the module when input voltage exceeds 80 V. A second method is to have the design margin of the module capable of 100 V input voltage. This module will not shut down when overvoltage occurs. The third is to have the design margin for 100 V input voltage and make the module shut down if the overvoltage lasts longer than 100 ms. If the input voltage exceeds 100 V or the overvoltage time exceeds 100ms, the module may be damaged. Please refer to Delta’s datasheet or contact Delta’s application engineers for the proper protection mechanism.
